Highlights 2012

  • Development of the 2013 UN and Partners Work Plan for Sudan with an appeal of US$983 million. This is US 82 million lower than 2012, while the number of people targeted for assistance has stayed roughly the same. This reflects improved planning and a more rigorous selection of project activities.
  • OCHA Sudan developed and launched a standard humanitarian dashboard, which has subsequently been adopted as a benchmark for OCHA globally.
  • The Humanitarian Financing Section, jointly with UNDP and the humanitarian Sector Leads, significantly strengthened the monitoring and reporting of the Common Humanitarian Fund management. A total of 89 visits were made to 72 projects throughout Sudan in 2012.
