On 18 and 19 September, 31 people participated in the CERF training that Humanitarian Affairs Officer, Victoria Sun, and Finance Officer, Zhendai Yang, held in Geneva. On the training, the discussions ranged from CERF's life-saving criteria through reporting to gender-mainstreaming.

CERF has already allocated $5 million to help kick start life-saving assistance in Haiti. CERF is a fast and effective way to support rapid humanitarian response. It provides immediate funding for lifesaving humanitarian action at the onset of emergencies and for crises that have not attracted sufficient funding. Contributions are received year-round.
