Coordination Structure

The humanitarian operation in Sudan brings together representatives of the Government of Sudan, UN agencies, international organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and humanitarian donors. On the Government side, the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security take the lead on general humanitarian issues, while relevant line ministries also play an important role. In the case of the United Nations and its international partners, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator provides overall leadership, with support from OCHA. Coordination mechanisms operate at both the national level and at the state level in those states where there are large humanitarian operations. The following coordination structures have been established to support humanitarian work in the country:

-   Humanitarian Coordination Structure

-   UN Coordination Structure

-   The International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) Forum
