13. SOUNDBITE (English) Yasmina Guerda, Humanitarian Affairs Officer, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA):
“Three days ago, we were working in our office and suddenly the bombs just started falling relentlessly and everyone was wondering what was happening. The fighting was so intense we were asked to stay in place. So, this is Nuseirat. We came here into the neighborhood where the attack happened. It's in the center of the Gaza Strip, and more than 300 women, children and men have been killed here in just three days. That's according to the Ministry of Health. On the first attack…. On the first attack, the Israeli military targeted a school where displaced people thought that they had found safety. And dozens of people were killed, including, of course, a lot of children and women. Two days later, the special operation, happened in a crowded market area and more than 270 people were killed in just two hours, 700 injured. We were able to speak to some residents here in this area. They were having lunch when this happened. And honestly, they just couldn't find the words to tell us what went through their mind and what they saw when they walked out in the street and saw all the wounded and all the people who were hurt. And I wish I could tell you this was a special week in Gaza, but this is the ninth month that weeks like this, nightmares like this take place frequently. Indiscriminate attacks that kill women, children, mothers, babies, fathers, brothers and sisters. This violence has to end. This war has to end.”

16. SOUNDBITE (English) Ahmed, resident of Nuseirat:
“In the morning, it's about, 11 a.m. There's actually, gunshots and, explosions everywhere. We are… It's like a doomsday. We don't know what happened. We just see the people, running away. The children in the street…everywhere. After maybe, half hour we know there is a special force in the area. So, we keep quiet in our home. We cannot move outside. So, every minute, every second, there's a bomb explosion, we are, in the, in the building. Then we go downstairs, and we can keep quiet in the entrance of the building. We cannot move, my home is near the hospital. We cannot move, to a safe place, because there is a drone above us.”
