Syria

The UN and our partners continue to respond to the needs of people affected by earthquakes.

At least 900,000 ready-to-eat rations of dry food and 1.7 million hot meals have been distributed.

In the northwest, 1,250 trucks carrying aid have entered from Türkiye since the earthquakes. UN agencies have completed 53 cross-border mission to meet affected people, assess their needs and coordinate the response.

Also in the northwest, more than 100,000 people have received emergency tents, emergency shelter kits and other shelter supplies.

While the Syria Earthquake Appeal is 95.4 per cent funded, the Humanitarian Response Plan for Syria is only 6.3 per cent funded. We need urgent additional funding to support more than 15 million people across the country.

Türkiye

We and our humanitarian partners have provided shelter support - including tents, toolkits and tarpaulins - to nearly 770,000 people.

More than 2 million people have received food aid.

Our partners have also supported the Government’s health response by providing more 4.7 million vaccine doses and supporting 16 mobile health clinics.

The UN and our partners have reached 2 million people with water, sanitation and hygiene services. This includes more than 1 million litres of drinking water and 1.7 million litres of water for sanitation.

Our $1 billion flash appeal is just 28 per cent funded.
