Andrew Alspach
Chief, Information Management Branch
Andrew Alspach was appointed Chief of OCHA's Information Management Branch and Head of the Istanbul office in 2019. He has 20 years’ experience with OCHA, including as Deputy Head of Office for the Yemen and Syria offices in Amman, Jordan. Alspach has extensive experience with UNHCR in Africa, Europe and the response to the Venezuela crisis in Latin America. He has also worked in development with UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the private sector, and as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Tunisia. Alspach, an American national, has a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems and International Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography. He speaks English and Spanish.
