Menada Wind-Andersen was appointed OCHA Executive Officer in 2018, covering the Geneva, New York and Istanbul offices. She has almost 15 years of experience in field operations and at headquarters, including as Executive Officer for the UN Department of Safety and Security, Chief of Staff of the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone, and Head of the Strategic Planning Cell for the UN Organization of the Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Wind-Andersen has also worked with organizations including UNDP, International Medical Corps, Health Action in Crisis, WHO, World Vision and the Danish Red Cross. Wind-Andersen, an Albanian national and a Danish citizen, holds an MScM from Villanova University, a Bachelor's degree in Business Languages and Economics from Copenhagen Business School, and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tirana. She speaks Albanian, Danish, English, French and Italian.
