I. CONSOLIDATED APPEALS PROCESS IN 2009

First Quarter CAP Funding Updates

In November 2008, Consolidated Appeals were launched to facilitate emergency response to crises in 31 countries world-wide. The appeals aim to assist 30 million people during the course of 2009. Seven of these appeals seek to respond to emergencies in counties in Central and East Africa. The total requirement for the response strategies outlined in these appeals is US$ 5.297 billion as of 1 April 2009.
