Côte d'Ivoire: Amidst alarming situation, aid agencies scale up response

(New York/ Abidjan, 7 April 2011): Amidst a highly volatile security situation, humanitarian agencies have stepped up in recent days their humanitarian response especially in Western Côte d'Ivoire in order to meet the various urgent needs of the civilians caught up in the recent fighting. But in Abidjan, the humanitarian response remains timid due to a lack of access.
