CONTEXT

From January to June 2024, 67 incidents affected humanitarian workers. Although this represents a 26 per cent decrease compared to the same period in 2023, the operating environment in the Central African Republic (CAR) remains among the most challenging for humanitarian actors. Civilians remain the main victims of armed tension and violence. In June 2024, nine incidents affected humanitarian actors, a 18 per cent decrease compared to May when 11 incidents were recorded. The month of June recorded four cases of aggression and five cases of interference. Since the beginning of the year, the most affected prefectures are Bangui (21 per cent), Haut-Mbomou (16 per cent) and Kémo (13 per cent).
