Nominations requested for the CERF Advisory Group

The Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC) has formally invited all Member States to nominate candidates to serve as new members on the Advisory Group of CERF. The Secretary-General will select new experts to serve on the Advisory Group from a range of partners and stakeholders, including Member States, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, practitioners, and academic and research institutions.

This will be the second rotation of members of the Advisory Group since its establishment in 2006. Members of the Advisory Group provide guidance and advice to the ERC on the use and impact of the Fund, and make recommendations on the Fund's replenishment.

All nominations have been requested by 30 July 2009 so that the Secretary-General may announce the new members in time for their participation in the next Advisory Group meeting in early November.
