INDONESIA

On the afternoon of 7 July, a moderate earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitudes with a depth of 6 kilometres struck Batang District in Central Java. The quake resulted in 12 injuries, with 11 individuals receiving outpatient treatment and one person hospitalised. Damage assessment indicated that at least 49 houses and other buildings in Batang District, as well as two houses in neighbouring Pekalongan City, sustained varying degrees of damage. 1

Between 3 and 7 July, flooding was reported in several provinces, including Banten, Bengkulu, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and West Java. Although there were no reported fatalities, more than 39,000 people were directly affected by the floods. 1

During the night of 7 July, a landslide occurred in Tulabo lo Village, Bone Bolango District, Gorontalo Province. Triggered by heavy rain and unstable conditions in a community-based mining area, the landslide resulted in 12 fatalities, with 48 individuals still missing and 44 people successfully rescued. Search and rescue operations have mobilised 230 personnel from various organisations, including 11 from the BASARNAS Special Group.

MYANMAR

Since 30 June, continuous heavy rain and swollen rivers have caused flash floods in Kachin State, impacting several townships, including the state capital, Myitkyina. In Bhamo Township, approximately 3,500 people have been displaced to nine evacuation sites. In Sumprabum Township, riverbank collapses have destroyed houses, water erosion has damaged parts of the road, and landslides have affected the road between Myitkyina and Puta-O. The flood-affected population has received food, water, and other assistance from the de facto authorities and partners. On 5 July, partners conducted a rapid needs assessment at 26 sites.
