Hesham Youssef, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Rashid Khalikov, Director of OCHA Geneva, are scheduled to visit Iraq from 20 to 23 October to see first-hand the magnitude of the crisis.

There are an estimated 5.2 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance in Iraq due to fighting by Government forces and the Islamic State of the Levant (ISIL), making it one of the most complex humanitarian crises in the world today.
