Sudan: Joint Press Advisory on the Fifth Meeting of the Strengthened High Level Committee

(Khartoum, 19 July 2010) - A meeting of the High Level Committee was held today at Friendship Hall in Khartoum, co-chaired by Joseph Lual Achuil, Federal Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, and Mr. Georg Charpentier, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan. It was the fifth meeting of the strengthened and expanded Committee under Ministerial Decree No. 4 of 2 May 2009. Participants included officials of the Government of National Unity and the international community, including senior representatives of non-governmental organizations, the United Nations, the European Commission, the League of Arab States, the Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom.
