Mark Lowcock, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, is scheduled to be in the Syrian capital Damascus on 28 August on his second visit to Syria in 2018.

Mr. Lowcock is scheduled to meet with government officials to discuss humanitarian issues related to, among other things, response planning and access. Mr. Lowcock is also scheduled to meet national and international NGO partners, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the UN country team and representatives of the diplomatic community.

During this one-day working visit, no media availability with Mr. Lowcock is expected.
