HUMANITARIAN COORDINATOR FOR UKRAINE DENISE BROWN STRONGLY CONDEMNS TODAY'S ATTACK BY THE RUSSIAN ARMED FORCES ON DNIPRO CITY, KILLING AND INJURING CIVILIANS

I am outraged by the news of yet another attack by the Russian Armed Forces that shook Dnipro City this morning as people were starting their day.

Only two days ago, I was there and saw the devastating impact of last Friday's strike that destroyed an apartment block right in front of the United Nations offices.

Yet again, families lost their loved ones, and people were injured in Dnipro, the country's fourth-largest city, which has also become home to thousands of people fleeing from hostilities in Ukraine. The blast also damaged hospitals, schools and a collective site where over 120 displaced people live.

The people of Ukraine continue to pay the highest price for this war, as every day, attacks take lives, destroy homes and bring more suffering. I once again call for the respect of international humanitarian law. Civilians must not be a target in war, they must be protected.
