UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos to address Arab conference on Humanitarian Partnership building in Kuwait [EN/AR]

UN Humanitarian Chief Valerie Amos is scheduled to travel to the State of Kuwait on 17 September to address the opening of the Fourth Annual Conference on Effective Partnership & Information Sharing for Better Humanitarian Action in the Arab region in Kuwait City.

The three-day conference will address a number of key humanitarian issues including how to build and sustain partnerships in the Arab region, working with partners in complex emergencies and developing effective networks to strengthen humanitarian action in the field.

Under the patronage of H.E. Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the conference is organized by the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), Direct Aid and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This year, the event will bring together some 150 representatives from governments, NGOs, the corporate sector and the global donor community.
