ERF News The ERF Advisory Board met on 20 September to review three projects for possible funding. The Humanitarian Coordinator (HC), Mr Alain Noudehou, led discussions on feasibility of the three proposed projects. All three have been approved for funding. Two are in Agriculture and one is addressing water and sanitation issues in Beitbridge.

The Board emphasized the need for projects to comply with sector prioritization and policies formulated to ensure that humanitarian assistance is effective. Also, applicants were urged to join relevant national and regional coordination forums where they would provide feedback on implementation progress and also be updated on what other actors in the same sectors were implementing to avoid duplication of efforts.

At the same time, the HC welcomed two new members of the ERF Board representing the International NGOs. Ms Jennifer Mayer of Mercy Corps who replaces Mr Sasha Veljanov of CRS as the primary board member and Mr Rupert Leighton of ACF replacing Mr Joel Weiler of MDM as alternate.
